Jesus Christ – who is he! I would propose that he is Jesus, Son of God. The Old Testament scripture is flooded with overtones of a coming Messiah … a Rescuer, who will overcome death and Hell on our behalf because of his great love for us … because of his overwhelming desire for us to be with him for all time. All for the Glory that he so rightfully deserves. Want to know more?? Continue Reading…
The Story!!
Many woke up this morning and stared another day in the face … not viewing it much different than any other day. Might be an exciting day for the kids as they wake with the anticipation of the Easter Bunny’s deposits of candy in the baskets and hidden eggs located in some designated area. Might be something that passes by and not acknowledged at all in some cases Continue Reading…
Give It Up!
And Going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that,
if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
And he said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for you.
Remove this cup from me.
Yet not what I will, but what you will
Mark 14:35-36
From the Archive – What’s Your Tag??
Quick question for you!! What's your tag?? When you think about what defines your identity what is the first thing that comes to the forefront?? Kind of hard I've found to give one tag the pole position when so many can hold us in place for a time. And even then, realistically we find that we have to become a circus preformer, juggling multiple tags simultaneously, feeling a sense of guilt that we can't give each role its due. Continue Reading…
Loving Life!
I Praise You because I am Fearfully & Wonderfully Made
Your works are Wonderful, I know that full well
My frame was not hidden from You when I was made
In the Secret Place
When I was woven together in the depths of the Earth
Your Eyes saw unformed body;
All the days ordained for me were written in your Book
Before one of them came to be!
Psalms 139:14-16 Continue Reading…
Just In Time God?!
I'm unsure how to broach this in an overly sensitive way … so here goes! It has become a major eye twitcher for me when I hear Christians use phraseology such as "and then God showed up just in the nick of time!" or "I was losing hope and then God arrived!" Please believe me when I say, I would conjecture that those who find this talk flowing from their mouths would truly admit that God didn't just show up Continue Reading…
Holy Goodness!
Think on this for a moment … all that you think is good really is not. All those ethical and moral standards that you live by really aren't what they seem to be. The perverbial helping the lady across the road so you feel good about the good that's inside the moment really doesn't cut it. Think about these things for a moment and ask the question why! What's the point of all this stuff that we do … day … after … day? Continue Reading…
Celebrate Good Times!!
As a result of some happenstance that has occured in some lives around mine of late, I've been unexpectedly accosted by God's goodness. This portion of God's character has utterly brought me to a new place in my walk with Christ … a place that makes everything in a Christians life good. Now before some begin to think I've lost my marbles let me dive a little deeper. Continue Reading…
Whataya Have Whataya Have!?
Anyone that hails from the great metroplex called Atlanta (or Athens for that matter) is undoubtedly quite familiar with a little place right off the 85-75 connector called the Varsity … home of the PC, FO and their world famous Varsity chili dogs! This Atlanta landmark has become a destination point for tourists stopping by or passing through … it's a necessary part of the Georgia Tech football season … and after a late night with the Braves an 11:00 pit stop by the Varsity is Continue Reading…
What Is It I Do Again!!
It's a question that many of us ask probably several times a day … and it begins like this. We have the day nicely laid out before us … that lasts until the alarm goes abuzz and the day begins! We begin to assume and assimilate … we assume all the roles that come along with what defines us and we assimilate all the chatter that surrounds us and enslaves us! We soon find out that it's the Continue Reading…
