Loving Life!

I Praise You because I am Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

Your works are Wonderful, I know that full well

My frame was not hidden from You when I was made

In the Secret Place

When I was woven together in the depths of the Earth

Your Eyes saw unformed body;

All the days ordained for me were written in your Book

Before one of them came to be!

Psalms 139:14-16 Continue Reading…

Just In Time God?!

I'm unsure how to broach this in an overly sensitive way … so here goes!  It has become a major eye twitcher for me when I hear Christians use phraseology such as "and then God showed up just in the nick of time!" or "I was losing hope and then God arrived!"  Please believe me when I say, I would conjecture that those who find this talk flowing from their mouths would truly admit that God didn't just show up Continue Reading…

Holy Goodness!

Think on this for a moment … all that you think is good really is not.  All those ethical and moral standards that you live by really aren't what they seem to be. The perverbial helping the lady across the road so you feel good about the good that's inside the moment really doesn't cut it.  Think about these things for a moment and ask the question why!  What's the point of all this stuff that we do … day … after … day? Continue Reading…

Celebrate Good Times!!

As a result of some happenstance that has occured in some lives around mine of late, I've been unexpectedly accosted by God's goodness.  This portion of God's character has utterly brought me to a new place in my walk with Christ … a place that makes everything in a Christians life good.  Now before some begin to think I've lost my marbles let me dive a little deeper.  Continue Reading…

Whataya Have Whataya Have!?

Whataya Have Whataya Have!?

Anyone that hails from the great metroplex called Atlanta (or Athens for that matter) is undoubtedly quite familiar with a little place right off the 85-75 connector called the Varsity … home of the PC, FO and their world famous Varsity chili dogs! This Atlanta landmark has become a destination point for tourists stopping by or passing through … it's a necessary part of the Georgia Tech football season … and after a late night with the Braves an 11:00 pit stop by the Varsity is Continue Reading…

Happy God the Father’s Day – Repost!!

Happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there!!

We have a high calling in God's eternal plan for our children. Keep striving to walk the path that God has ordained for us. The mark that we can leave on our sons and daughters has both earthly and eternal implications. Our children look to us for security, guidance, direction, and as a top notch jungle gym. Continue Reading…

He Promised!!

Here listening to the rain pound on the Casa de Wells and realizing how relaxed I am amidst the blasts of thunder and the flashes of lightning.  It really is an amazing display of creation's beauty and serves as a reminder of a promise that God made mankind in epic fashion … see Genesis 6-9 for more details.

I sit here soaking in the calmness of the storm, but I wonder what Noah thought when the first post-deluge rain drop fell after he spent an entire year gazing into the depths of waterness.  Did he strike out looking for some Gopher wood Continue Reading…

Roll Call!!

Hello … hello … hello!  Is there anybody out there??  Oh … there is … well … ok!  Just checking.

I say this somewhat in jest because I think it's a bit humorous and somewhat presumptous that Mr. Harold Camping has undoubtedly taken on the Matt. 24:36 challege personally. I believe this is now the third date for him that's come and gone – one for each of the triune God it seems Continue Reading…

Put Me In Coach!

Ever feel like God is sitting on the sidelines just waiting for you to put him in the game … like you're some kind of life coach that holds the eternal play book.  Ever feel like you have so much busyness bouncing off the inside walls of your cranium that the interference … the static, serves as noise cancelling ear plugs to God's message in your life. Continue Reading…

A New Language!

We've been back from China now a little over 3 months and I snapped out of my autopilot mode the other day to notice something most profound … Jenna doesn't speak Chinese anymore.  She has realized that it serves her poorly to use Mandarin around these parts … so she's quit!  She cutting off full sentences like, "Daddy, don't do that!", " Daddy, please stop!" and my personal favorite, "I lub you!!"  Continue Reading…
