Think on this for a moment … all that you think is good really is not. All those ethical and moral standards that you live by really aren't what they seem to be. The perverbial helping the lady across the road so you feel good about the good that's inside the moment really doesn't cut it. Think about these things for a moment and ask the question why! What's the point of all this stuff that we do … day … after … day? Where's the finish line to this race for goodness that we're all running? Does the race have a point or is it just random competition with no standards … no goodness cap to define our strivings? Is anything that we do truly good within itself or do we find selfish motivations at each water break in this race we're running? Just food for thought.
I will leave it with this. The Bible states that "none is good, no not one", when held to the high standard of Christ's perfection. It is only in understanding the full goodness of the Father through Christ the Son that we can realize goodness that is pure, goodness that is guiltless and goodness that is for eternity. In Christ we have access to the only true goodness and that goodness will set us free!
